  • What is Be My Friend?  "It’s like a pen pal program, but better!  You’ll have fun writing, talking & learning Spanish with a student like me"

  • Who can Register? Both individuals and/or groups, like clubs or classes, can join!

​

  • Can I donate to Be My Friend without being a Pen Pal? Sure! Just make the indication on the registration "Donation Only", and then "Submit". You don't have to fill out the rest of the registration.

  • How do I register and get my student assignment?  "You can submit your registration & donate today. Just use the attached form."

​

  • How much do I donate? "Just $240/yr or $20/month helps me to stay in school. Click Submit at the bottom of your registration & you will be directed to the donation page."

  • How soon can I start emailing my student?  "You can email me just as soon as your receive my profile (about 2 weeks from receipt of your registration & donation.)

​​

  • Do I have to schedule my emails?  "You can email me any time."

​​

  • From what email address will my student correspond?  "All emails will go through

AcademiaGraciaDeDios@gmail.com  (Make sure you put my name in the subject field.")​

  • What do most friends talk about?  "Let's talk about the topics suggested on your registration ."  GOGA requires appropriate & respectful conversation.

  • How often will I hear from my student? "I will write at least 1 email per month and place 1 video call every other month to you."

​

  • What happens if I can not keep the video appointment, or if the video appointment fails to connect? "If we cannot connect, I'll share at least a second email with you."

​​

  • Is my donation to the BMF program tax deductible? "Yes! You will receive a year-end receipt directly from the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation."
